Aadrika's POV:
It's been almost a week since the engagement, and all the functions will be starting from tomorrow onwards.
Arhan and I have spent the whole week together, preparing and shopping.
It doesn't feel like we only met a week ago. I like him; his personality is captivating, and he's always a gentleman when we are together. However, my friends don't seem to like him, which puzzles me.
Today, Arhan's parents are coming to my house; they want to meet my parents for some reason, but it's good to meet them in person.
The doorbell rang, and the maid opened the door, welcoming Mr. and Mrs. Rajvanshi. Arhan was also there; he waved his hand towards me, and I reciprocated.
I took the blessings of his parents, and he did the same for my parents too.
Aunty looked towards me and said, "Hume Aadrika bahut pasand hai, Sharda Ji."
My mother replied with a smile. Ishani and I looked at each other with complex expressions.
Uncle then said, "I want Aadrika's hand for my son."
My father looked at me, and I was also shocked by the sudden proposal.
I looked at Arhan, who was also shocked, and then we looked towards our parents.
My father said, "I don't have any problem with whatever my daughter likes."
Everybody looked towards me, and I said, "Can I talk to Arhan for five minutes?"
Aunty said, "Sure, beta."
I took him to my room after closing the door.
I immediately said, "We just met one week ago, how could we marry each other?"
He replied, "We will not marry right now; just the engagement can be done, that too, after Ishani's marriage."
I said, "But I don't love you; I just see you as a friend."
He held my hands and said, "Just give us a chance, I like you." After some thought, I realized that he is a nice man, and maybe this is what is in my fate.
I smiled slightly and nodded my head. He reciprocated the smile and hugged me, which made me uncomfortable.
My mind mocked me, "You didn't feel uncomfortable when Kabir hugged you."
Talking about him, I last saw him at the engagement, busy on some call.
I pushed aside my thoughts and focused on Arhan.
When Arhan realized I wasn't hugging him, he separated himself and said, "Sorry if I made you uncomfortable." I replied, "It's okay, let's move downstairs."
Everybody was happy with our decision. My mom came towards me and said, "Baccha, don't take any pressure, you have your time."
I nodded, understanding her care toward me because I wasn't ready to marry at all; that's why Ishani was getting married first.
Aunty and uncle patted my head and blessed me.
After some time they left the place and the biggest thing was how would I tell my friends about it they would kill me.
I never intended to marry Arhan, but seeing my parents happy, I decided to do it. After all, I have to get married eventually.
I texted my friends:
Me: Come to my place in 5 minutes.
Arushi: Why? Is everything okay?
Raghav: On the way, sweetheart.
Me: I'll tell you once you get here.
After 15 minutes, they were in my room and I was nervously fidgeting with my fingers, trying to figure out how to break the news to them.
Arushi, getting irritated, said, "Bolo kuch toh, bhen!" "Yes, I will,"
I said, gathering my thoughts. "
I am leaving. Carry on with your stuttering session," Raghav said, standing up to leave. "In one go, I closed my eyes and said, "
I am getting engaged to Arhan." "Oh? Wait, what? You are getting what?" Raghav said, realizing my words.
Arushi was extremely shocked and didn't say anything for 10 seconds.
"Are you mad? You only met him one week ago," Raghav said.
"Don't take his challenge this seriously, Aadu," Arushi said.
"Guys, calm down. It's not because of this challenge. Today..." I informed them and narrated the whole scene.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" Arushi asked after listening to the situation.
"Yes, I want to give it a chance, and I am not going to marry him this soon," I said, making them believe in my decision. "
I don't like him, but if you want this, I will support you. But if he did something wrong, then I will break his nose "Raghav said showing his punch.
We all laughed and had our group hug.
Author's POV:
Sangeet is the pre-wedding function done before the wedding to rejoice and join the two families.
Both families dance to different music and celebrate their togetherness.
It was a beautiful evening when both families were gathered in the garden. The elders were sitting on the chairs while the younger ones were standing near the stage, teasing the couple.
"Guys, please stop. Look at Advay bhai and Ishani, they are red," Aadrika said teasingly. "Okay, then we should stop and focus on you, dee," Ishani said with a smirk.
Aadrika motioned her not to break the news, but Ishani wasn't in the mood to listen. "Guys, you know Aadrika dee is going to get engaged with Arhan," Ishani said, and everyone was now looking at Aadrika.
"Not fair, dee. You didn't tell us," Ruhani said, faking being hurt.
"Aadu, you should have told me at least," Arohi complained.
"Guys, it's okay now, so we know," Ruhaan said.
Aadrika nodded eagerly.
Aman and Rajveer came towards them and asked, "What's happening and where is Kabir? It's been a long time, he's not even picking up the call."
"Yes, bhai, you are right. We are also tensed and missing him," Advay said with a sad face.
"Don't be sad, bhai. He would be fine, you know him. He always does that," Ruhaan said.
"Bhaiya, Aadu dee is getting engaged," Ruhani said excitedly.
Aman and Rajveer choked on their drinks.
They both said together, "What?"
"Yes, but why are both so sad hearing it," Arushi said, seeing their faces.
"No, it's not like that," Rajveer said coldly.
"Congratulations! Who is the lucky man?" Aman asked with despair present in his voice.
"Arhaan," Raghav asserted with the same tone.
"Hey, I think you all are missing me," Arhaan said, coming towards them and standing next to Aadrika.
"Yes, but with sadness," Aman murmured.
"Did you say something?" Arhaan asked Aman.
"Not at all, let's begin the function," Aman said, changing the topic.
Aman and Rajveer went towards the corner.
Rajveer shouted, "Where the heck is Kabir? This Arhaan is not a good man."
"He's not even answering the call. I called Kiaan; he said he is in Italy," Aman said.
They both sighed at their best friend's behavior.
All the dance performances were done one by one. "Last but not least, Aadu dee is here to set the stage on fire," Ruhaan announced on the stage.
The lights dimmed, and the spotlight turned on her figure. She was looking stunning in her simple lengha with minimal makeup and heavy jhumka.
The song "Ghar More Pardesiya" started, and she began turning slowly, showing her Kathak moves.

She danced elegantly showing each move effortlessly ...Listening to the lines she acted showing according to the lyrics

Her thoughts were only lingering on Kabir as she was missing him but her mind was not letting her accept the truth...

Lingering in her thoughts she wasn't able to stop herself and was about to fall from the stage but at the same moment, two pair of hands held her waist standing in front of the stage ...
She was breathing heavily exhausted. When she opened her eyes to look at the person it was none other than Kabir looking at his eyes she was lost for a moment ..
Kabir was looking at her face analysing her features with a small smile. He was directly looking at her sole with his piercing gaze.
His hand on her bare waist was sending shivers down her spine and goose bumps erupted all over her body ...
She couldn't help but wonder why it didn't make her uncomfortable, as always it felt when Arhan touched her.
Everybody clapped for her and their attention shifted towards them.
Aadrika stood up on the stage bowed slowly and came down from the stairs.
"You did great Aadrika, " Arhan said placing his hand on her waist intentionally. Aadrika shifted being uncomfortable.
Ruhaan and Advay squirreled in happiness and jumped on Kabir hugging him tightly.
All the elders were looking at them with adoration.
Kabir hugged them back. They got separated and Kabir's sole focus was on Aadrika and Arhan.
Aman and Rajveer gave him a brother hug.
Then everybody went towards Aadrika and Kabir went towards elders to seek blessings.
Shulekha said "harsh jii ap isse keh dijiye iski maa isse naraz hai "
Shalini said "Chachi bhi "
Kabir shook his head at their antics and turned his maa and chachi towards him and said "It was really important otherwise I would not have gone, but see I am back before the marriage, sorry "
Kabir can be rude, and arrogant with everyone but when it comes to his maa and chachi. He always melts
Both of them melted listening to his words and hugged him.
Kabir then moved towards the younger gang and stood beside his friends.
"Aadrika your performance was fantastic," Alok said
"Pheli baar alok ne kuch sahi bola," Arohi said jokingly.
Aadrika smiled towards their cute little teasing session.
Arhan upon seeing Kabir said "fiancé kiski hai "
Raghav said " teri to bikul bhi nhi "
Everybody looked at Raghav controlling their laugh. Aadrika was shocked listening to her best friend. Kabir smirked towards him as if appreciating him.
Arhan said fuming in anger "Kya Matlab"
Raghav said covering "I mean engagement abhi hui nhi hai ''
Aadrika said "Excuse us guys" and held Raghav's hand and took him to a corner. Arushi followed them.
"What was that '" Aadrika questioned him.
"I was stating facts, "Raghav said smirking.
Arushi was in support of him this time.
"He is right though'" Arushi said.
Both of them started laughing and seeing them laughing Aadrika also started chuckling at her best friend's act ...
They all moved toward the gang and stood at their
Arhan said looking at Kabir with a side eye " Is everything good baby"
At first, Aadrika didn't react but then she realized he was talking to her " Yes, what would have happened"
Kabir was looking at each and everything patiently even though inside his mind he had killed Arhan multiple times but for his plan, he had to be calm...
Aman replied to Aadrika" Arhan was saying you will fight because of him to Raghav '" and smirked
"Not gonna happen," Aadrika said

" at least not for him," Raghav said.
Arhan glared at them at left excusing for the call.
Everybody burst into laughter. Kabir was smirking at the way her dove replied to him sassily.
Aadvay and Ishani came toward them and asked "What happened guys "
" Nothing just roasting someone," Arohi said ...
Aadrika shook his head at their antics and during the whole incident, Aadrika saw Kabir glaring and smirking at Arhan.
Aadrika left saying she needed water.
